Himalayan Footpeg Wideners

Added 1 3/4″ Footpeg Wideners to my Royal Enfield Himalayan

The stock footpegs on the Himalayan are pretty narrow. One pair of boots I wear has pretty soft soles and they would bend some over the narrow footpegs. So I decided to get some 1 3/4″ weld-on footpeg wideners for my Himalayan.

The Specifications

Footpeg widener specifications taken straight from the Works Connection site. I got the 1-3/4″ wideners:

Footpeg Wideners PRO 1-5/8″ through 2″

20-170 – Fits 1 3/4 inch pegs.

Details:

  • Increases overall width of your stock pegs by 1/2 inch
  • Aggressive traction design with increased teeth height on outer end
  • EZ weld-on addition
  • Sold as a pair
  • Made in the USA

The Install

To install the weld-on footpeg wideners, I first removed the stock pegs. Then I lined everything up and used a vise to hold everything in place while I welded. The welder I have is the Millermatic 211, which I really like.

While welding, I felt like penetration on the wideners was perfect, but seemed to over penetrate on the stock footpegs. Hopefully this doesn’t weaken the stock pegs much.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Mods

Since getting my 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan, I’ve done quite a few mods and installed parts. So far, most of the mods have gone pretty well and I’m happy with what I’ve done to the bike. To see more Himalayan mods, check out my other writeups.
