Welding Mods

1 post

Sometimes modifications to motorcycles require welding. These welding mods can be difficult for some people to do for a variety of reasons. The person simply may not have a welder, or not know how to weld. The cost of hiring a welder to do something for you can be pricy. The list goes on and on.

I do my own welding mods on my Royal Enfield Himalayan using my Millermatic 211 welder. Welding small things onto motorcycles takes a steady hand and an understanding of different metals. Sometimes welds can burn through one metal while barely heating another.

It’s important to make sure welds have the strength they need. You don’t want to weld on a footpeg widener just to have it snap off (and maybe take part of the footpeg with it when it does) mid ride.
